Once again, I’m sharing my reading list with you from this year. Last year I set a goal to read 3 books in 2017 because I hadn’t read -like-at-all- for many years. I crushed that goal but I still didn’t want to set myself up for failure by saying I’d read three a month or anything crazy like that. 12: One a month sounded fair enough. I did meet and exceed that goal again.
I reached 18-ish!
I add the -ish because I have one started that I won’t finish before the end of the year and I also finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix which I had started 4 or 5 times since I graduated High School (I went to my 10 year reunion this summer).
Here we go:
Losing My Virginity - Richard Branson - If you like biographies, this was fantastic. I think Dos Equis’ Most Interesting Man in the World is actually based on Mr. Branson!
Have a Little Faith - Mitch Albom - If you’ve read any of this others, this is just as great. Also, an easy read.
It’s a Long Story: My Life - Willie Nelson - Loved this book! Another great biography. Another interesting life!
Fifty Shades Freed - EL James - Much more of a “love” story than the the first two.
Steal Like an Artist - Austin Kleon (<- Read the digital version here)
A Million Miles in a Thousand Years - Don Miller - Great book!
We’re Going to Need More Wine - Gabrielle Union - I really loved learning about another culture and region. She’s a powerhouse.
Strengths Finder 2.0 - Tom Rath - Don’t forget to take your test first!
The Creative Habit - Twyla Tharp - I love anything that has to do with art and creativity!
Currently I’m reading This is Marketing by Seth Godin. I love it. I’m glad it is one I have added to my small library. I’m a huge advocate of using your public library or borrowing from a friend but there are a few I wanted to own and each one of those has been purchased from Thriftbooks.com, for only a few dollars instead of full price. The minimal wear that has been on a couple doesn’t bother me at all but rather add history to the book.
Here is a few on my list for the next year:
It’s Ok that You’re Not Ok - Megan Devine
An Audience of One - Srinivas Rao
Taking Aim - Eva Shockey
The Happiness Project - Gretchen Rubin
The Art of Gathering - Priya Parker
