Today I went to a local baseball park where snowy owls are known to live in the winter.  I have looked around this area every winter for about three years and did not ever see an owl.  Today I drove around the area about three times, listening to the radio.  My dogs were with me and excitedly looking through the front window wondering what I was searching for.  It was funny because they sensed there was something exciting out there even though they didn't know what it was.  I was getting close to going home when I saw him.  He was on the oposite side of a fence.  I got out of the car and hiked through the soft deep snow to where I could start shooting photo.  I kept creeping closer and closer, taking more photos until he finally took flight.  I was so disapointed that I could not focus on him in flight but still had a lot of interesting photos to share.
